Hosted by Endeavors Counseling, this free training is open to anyone working with children this summer—whether you’re connected to a local camp, church or are just eager to build your skills.

Led by Licensed Mental Health Counselor and certified play therapist Ella Shepherd, this interactive training will equip you with tools grounded in mental health and play therapy theory. You’ll walk away with practical strategies to:

✨ Communicate clearly and kindly
✨ Manage emotions—yours and the kids’
✨ Facilitate games that build connection and cooperation

The training will be co-facilitated by Dalia Emara, a psychology major at Stetson University (‘26), CAS Senator, SGA member, Brain Fitness Academy intern, and member of Stetson’s Women’s Crew team.

Cost

This training is donation-based. Contributions will go toward a scholarship fund for Dalia Emara as she continues her education and leadership in mental health and child development.

Meet Your Facilitators

Ella Shepherd, LMHC, NCC

Ella is the owner, founder, and counselor at Endeavors Counseling. Ella founded Endeavors Counseling while working in community mental health in Central Florida in January 2020. She has a Bachelor of Art’s in Psychology and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a play therapy certificate. Ella is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and National Certified Counselor. Her clinical experience is with children, adolescents, and adults. She is a yoga teacher and loves incorporating movement and breath work into her clinical interventions.

Dalia Emara is a psychology major at Stetson University (‘26), CAS Senator, SGA member, Brain Fitness Academy intern, and member of Stetson’s Women’s Crew team.
